Editorial Guidelines
The Sizzling Dishes is a solo operation — I write, test, and review everything here myself. These guidelines exist so you know exactly what standards every recipe on this site is held to, and exactly who stands behind it.
Who writes and reviews
Everything on this site is written and fact-checked by me, Maha. There are no ghostwriters and no uncredited contributors. When you read “By Maha” on a post, that’s who wrote it, tested it, and reviewed it before it went live.
How a recipe gets made
1. Research. I start by looking at what people are actually cooking and searching for — trending dishes, seasonal favourites, and the questions readers keep asking. I read widely across reputable recipe sources to understand a dish, how it’s traditionally made, and where home cooks tend to get stuck.
2. Testing. Recipes are cooked in my own kitchen before they’re written up — and more than once where it matters. This is where I nail down real timings, real pan sizes, and the little details that decide whether a dish works: when a sauce is actually ready, how a substitution behaves, where a step tends to go wrong. If something is fussy or a swap falls flat, that honesty makes it into the notes.
3. Drafting. I draft with the help of modern tools, including AI, to speed up structure and organization. Then I rewrite every recipe in my own words and voice. AI is a starting point for structure, never the finished product —
4. Review and fact-check. Before anything publishes, I go back through it for accuracy: ingredient amounts, cook times, temperatures, and technique. I check that the heat guidance is right and that any claim about a dish holds up. Nothing goes live until it’s passed that check.
5. Updates. Recipes aren’t frozen the moment they publish. If a reader flags an issue, if a step turns out to confuse people, or if I find a better way to do something, I go back and update the post.
Accuracy and honesty
- I don’t invent credentials, awards, or experience I don’t have.
- I don’t fake reviews or testimonials.
- Nutrition figures are estimates, clearly labelled as such, and meant as a rough guide rather than medical or dietary advice.
- Where a recipe is inspired by or adapted from another source, that’s acknowledged.
- Sponsored content or affiliate links, if I ever use them, will always be clearly disclosed in line with FTC guidance.
Corrections
I want the recipes here to be right. If you spot a mistake — a wrong amount, an unclear step, anything that seems off — email me at thesizzlingdishes@gmail.com and I’ll review and fix it. Corrections to published recipes are made openly, not quietly buried.
